In this post we will quickly guide you through the process of buying the right amount of flooring for your room. Thanks to our experience you will know how to buy wooden floors so that you won't have any panels missing and, therefore, you won't need to buy additional ones.

The first thing you must know is that you will need about 10% more wooden floor panels, planks or parquet blocks than the actual size of the floor is. The reason for this is very simple - some of the panels and planks will have to be cut because there are lots of pipes, corners and other hard-to-reach-places where fitting complete planks will simply won't do.

Also, it is the case that the tongue ends as well as the grooves will need to be removed if you'd like to use the cut panels to fit all the room spaces. As a result, it is necessary to buy more flooring panels than is needed or to buy the smaller amount. The smaller amount is required if the room you want to fit the floor in is perfectly square. However, if there are some windows, a fireplace or closets you will have to order a bigger amount than the actual floor area.

The same rules apply, of course, to all types of wooden floors including hardwood flooring, engineered floors and parquets. If you are thinking about fitting a new floor in your room and you don't know which type of wood to choose, how to measure the area to be laid with panels, or you just don't have the right experience - call us and we will help you out.
